The 'Forum for a Multicultural Europe' was a great opportunity to get to know new people from all over Europe. The main topic was the media. Students from 10 different European countries and their exchange partners here in Luxembourg had to make up their minds whether the media provide fact or fiction.
The first day after our guests' arrival we went on a town trail through Luxembourg city. It was a kind of sight-seeing tour. From Monday to Wednesday, we spent the first two hours listening to speeches at the 'Chambre des Métiers' in Kirchberg. I must say that Kate Adie's speech was the most amazing and compelling speech I had ever heard. After a coffee break, we attended different workshops. I was in the creative workshop, where we had to alter pictures. The idea was to transform the pictures so much that their original meaning changed completely. On Wednesday, each group had to present the results of their workshops in front of the whole group. I enjoyed it very much although I was extremely nervous before presenting my work. I never expected the forum to be so much fun. At first I was a bit anxious because there were a lot of foreigners. But after only two days, we got along really well. I would like to thank Mrs. Thill very much because she encouraged us to take part and without her I would have never made this unique experience. Julie OPPERMANN 3eA |
